Steve's 40
East Family Restaurant, located at 11411 Pulaski Highway, has been
serving families in the Baltimore area for more than 26 years. The
family-friendly restaurant is well known for their all-day breakfast.
No matter if you're stopping in before work at 7 a.m. or heading over
around closing time at 3 p.m. for an afternoon delight, you will be
able to order light fluffy eggs, sizzling sausage and don't forget
everyone's diner favorite - Belgian waffles. With its cozy booths
and Tiffany lamps shining down to set the mood, it is no surprise
the public keeps coming back for more. Owner Steve Tetteris and son
and co-owner Tony Tetteris know exactly what customer service is all
about. When I first stepped foot in the door, I was greeted with sounds
of Frank Sinatra and posters of movie legends such as Marilyn Monroe
and Paul Newman. Tony has been here for 26 years now and has always
loved the 50s era, noted Meghan Tetteris, who has been the manager
and one of the waitresses at Steve's for the last 15 years. Many of
the posters you will see in here are from his own personal collection.
Steve's even has its very own Coca-Cola room! Yes, that's right, you
can take a journey back to the 50s era while enjoying a hot meal with
the family. According to Tetteris, the Coca-Cola room is great for
special occasions such as birthdays. When my co-worker and I headed
over to the restaurant to sample some of their food specials, I expected
to be greeted with samples off their breakfast menu, but little did
I know my taste buds were in for a very mouthwatering surprise. Our
waitress brought out a healthy-sized seafood platter, filled with
breaded shrimp, plump crab cakes, steak fish and a shrimp salad melt
that was on top of a lightly toasted English muffin and topped with
yellow American cheese. Everyone thinks that breakfast food is our
specialty, but its actually our crab cakes that are made with jumbo
lump crab meat that attracts our large crowds, said Tetteris. Along
with the seafood platter, we were served a side of potato salad, filled
with chunks of tender potatoes, creamy macaroni salad and cole slaw
- all three of which are made homemade everyday. If crab cakes and
pasta salad isn't enough to get you excited, then maybe you need to
come in and try one of Steve's three lunch specials that are under
$7! This family restaurant is open seven days a week, meaning everyday
you can stop in and grab a meal that will leave both your stomach
and your wallet full. I had the privilege of trying Meghan's buffalo
chicken wrap. Every bite was filled with pieces of juicy white chicken
seasoned with their creamy and rich buffalo sauce all bundled inside
of a delicious Old Bay wrap. All I can say is that you definitely
get more than what you pay for here at Steve's Once I was done with
my main course, I decided it was time for dessert! The dessert special
of the day was warm apple pie. The crust was very moist and filled
with large apple slices seasoned with just the right amount of cinnamon.
No matter if you are heading over to satisfy your sweet tooth or leaving
the office for a relaxing lunch break, you can enjoy playing KENO
or just sitting down with the kids while they color and eat a peanut
butter and jelly sandwich. We offer a children's menu where they can
order anything from the classic PB&J to a juicy pork chop, said Tetteris.
We also keep plenty of coloring books and crayons on hand so the kids
have something fun to do. We even allow them to hang up their creations
along our walls. Steve's is not only about family fun and great food
but at this restaurant they are all about convenience with their very
own ATM machine, which is very beneficial if you happen to run out
of cash or just forgot to bring your money with you. This one-of-a-kind
restaurant also supports our Baltimore Ravens football team by faithfully
wearing their purple every Friday. Tetteris also noted they have high
hopes of extending their hours for Friday and Saturday in the fall.
