Looking for a relaxing atmosphere with a picturesque view of the water to set the mood for your dining experience? Then head on over to SteeleFish Grille, located at 203 Nanticoke Road. This lovely establishment first opened its doors on March 28 and offers patrons an upscale, seafood-heavy menu with amazing daily specials. My co-worker and I had the pleasure of eating our lunch there a couple of weeks ago and it is safe to say that our taste buds are still thanking us for it. Our cheerful waitress brought us an exquisite array of mouth-watering dishes. We started off with the scrumptious marinated and slow roasted pork shanks, known as Hog Wings. These enormous pieces of meat are char-grilled and glazed with a savory chipotle sauce. They were incredibly succulent and I particularly enjoyed how the meat slid off the bone. Sitting next to the Hog Wings was a mound of breaded shrimp tossed in a luscious garlic chilli sauce and served in a lettuce cup. These crispy fried morsels, listed on the menu as Sunset Shrimp, were my absolute favorite - every bite was bursting with flavor. It's what I like to call food euphoria! At this point my co-worker and I felt as though we could not fit in another bite. Our bellies were already so pleased with the previous delicacies. Somehow, we made room when we landed our sights upon the seafood mac and cheese. We were speechless, literally. I think there was about five minutes of silence as we sunk our teeth into the homemade mac and cheese, chock full of shrimp and lump crab. It was smothered in shredded jack cheese and lightly sprinkled with crunchy bread crumbs. "Mhmm" and "wow" were the only words I could get from my co-worker. The exceptionally talented Chef, Phil, took a few moments to speak with us during our visit. We noticed an ambrosial flavor in the seafood mac and cheese and were curious to know what it was. He told us that he uses sweet vermouth as one of his ingredients. It really tantalized our senses! Last, but surely not least, Chef Phil prepared for us the Boh Knows Pizza - a meat lover's dream come true. This pie is made with meat sauce, Natty Boh sausage, pepperoni and bacon. For those of you who are wondering what Natty Boh sausage is, all you need to know is it involves simmering sausage in Natty Boh beer. Doesn't get much better than that. I really like a dish that displays Baltimore pride. At the end of our feast, we were asked if we wanted dessert. There are very few times in my life that I can recall declining sweets, but this was certainly one of them. We were completely stuffed and had a couple bags of left overs to take with us. However, I do recommend saving room at the end of your meal so you can try one of their slices of cheese cake. It looked sinfully delicious. If you haven't had the pleasure of dining at SteeleFish Grille, you really haven't lived. There is always something new and exciting going on and no matter where you sit inside of the restaurant, you have a wonderful view of the water. Did I mention there is free boat docking for patrons? According to owner Scott Steele, who also owns Sunset Cove, located at 3408 Red Rose Farm Road in Bowleys Quarters, SteeleFish Grille offers different food and beer specials every night of the week. "What is really unique about SteeleFish is that you have a broad variety of food from which to choose. Wether it's our fresh oysters or a gourmet burger, there is truly something for everyone," noted Steele. "In the summer, it gets really busy over at Sunset Cove, so for those who don't feel like standing in a long line, they have the option to head over to SteeleFish, where they can indulge in some of our amazing menu items while soaking up the tranquillity of the location." During your visit be sure to ask about the Chef's Special, which changes every Thursday. This is where you will find the freshest fish. Looking for the perfect spot to have a private party? SteeleFish has plenty of space for you and your friends to sit back and let the good times roll. They also provide excellent catering services. "I have a lot of big dreams and ideas for the future of SteeleFish Grille. I hope to transform them into reality," affirmed Steele.
