After School Drop-In
The rec. council will hold After School Drop-In for children ages 7 - 13. Season runs Monday through Friday from 3:30 - 6 p.m., until June 10 at Sandalwood Elementary School Recreation Center.

Bag-O (Bean Bag Toss)
What are you doing on Thursday nights this winter? Come join the Baltimore Metro Horseshoe Club’s off-season. Registration is Jan. 6 from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Back River Recreation Center. Games will be held in the cafeteria of Deep Creek Middle School, which is located at 1000 S. Marlyn Ave.
Games are each Thursday from 6 - 9 p.m. from Jan. 13 through March 31. The cost is $15 for the season. Come and enjoy the great fun with your local Horseshoe Club. All are welcome, no prior experience needed. For more info., call Dean Foreman at 443-939-4341.

Martial Arts
Martial Arts classes will be held for children ages 8 years and up on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 - 8:30 p.m. at Deep Creek Middle School, 1000 S. Marlyn Ave. Participation cost is $25 per month. For more info., call the rec. office.

Council Meeting
The rec. council holds its monthly meeting on the second Wednesday of each month beginning at 7 p.m. in the Berkshire Elementary School Recreation Room.  The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 12.  The public is welcome to attend.
Monthly Social Dances
Individuals with special needs or disabilities ages 18 and older are invited to monthly social dances sponsored by the Berkshire-Eastwood Recreation & Parks Council. The January Dance will be held on Friday, Jan. 7 from 8 - 11 p.m. at Eastwood Elementary SRC, 428 Westham Way, Baltimore (corner of Eastern Blvd. and Westham Way). Admission is $3 at the door, and includes light refreshments. For more information, call the rec office.

New Social Group for the Deaf
The Silent Golden Agers is a new adult social group for the deaf and hearing impaired. Meetings will include various activities, such as Bingos, guest speakers, picnics, luncheons, trips and movies. The meetings are monthly at the Essex Elementary School Recreation Center Activity Room.  The January Meeting will host a Bingo and take place on Jan. 27.

Aerobics
The winter session of Aerobics will begin the week of Jan. 10. Daytime classes are held at Honeygo Regional Community Center on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30  - 10:30 a.m. (with an optional Friday class that will have an additional charge.) Evening classes are held at Gunpowder Elementary School cafeteria on Monday and Wednesdays from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:15 - 7:15 p.m. The cost for the two one-hour classes per week is $36. Softball and Baseball
The rec. council will be holding registration for Boy’s Baseball (ages 4 - 19) and Girl’s Softball (ages 5 - 18). Registration will be held at Chapel Hill Elementary School. Registration dates are Saturdays, Jan. 15, 22 & 29 and Feb. 5 from 10 a.m. - noon and on Wednesdays, Jan. 19 & 26, Feb. 2 & 9 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. The cost is $70 per participant/$120 family rate. The softball clinic is $45 per child. Family rate applies within each program only.

Karate
For males and females from 8 years through adult, beginning on Tuesday and Thursdays, Jan. 18 at Honeygo Regional Park from 7 - 9 p.m. The cost is $30 for six weeks.
