Here is a breakdown on how your
delegates and senators voted on some of the legislation for the 2010
session.
HB #825 - Increasing the minimum amounts of the required security for motor vehicles for the payment of claims for bodily injury or death arising from a motor vehicle accident from $20,000 to $30,000 for one person and from $40,000 to $60,000 for two or more persons; applying the Act to all vehicle liability insurance policies issued, delivered, or renewed in the State on or after January 1, 2011; etc. HB #91/SB #107 - Providing for an alternative method to determine the base period for unemployment insurance purposes under specified circumstances; altering provisions relating to benefit eligibility of specified part-time workers; creating an additional training benefit for specified individuals; providing that specified training benefits may not be charged to employers; providing for the calculation and limit for the additional training benefits; altering the wage requirements for a specified claimant to be eligible for unemployment benefits; etc. HB #473/SB #280 - Repealing the requirement that the Maryland Parole Commission administer extended sexual offender parole supervision; altering provisions relating to extended sexual offender supervision of specified offenders; requiring a sentence for specified persons to include a term of lifetime sexual offender supervision; establishing that lifetime sexual offender supervision is imposed on a defendant for a crime committed on or after August 1, 2006; clarifying that a specified imposition or adjustment is a subsequent proceeding; etc. HB #150/SB #140 - Operating Budget - Making the proposed appropriations contained in the State Budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011, in accordance with Article III, Section 52 of the Maryland Constitution; etc. HB #472/SB #276 - Requiring an order to docket or complaint to foreclose on residential property to be accompanied by an additional filing fee, a specified final or preliminary loss mitigation affidavit, and, if applicable, a specified request for foreclosure mediation; altering the information required to be included in a specified notice form; requiring the court to forward a request for foreclosure mediation to the Office of Administrative Hearings for scheduling; etc. SB #321 - Prohibiting a driver of a motor vehicle that is in motion from using the driver’s hands to use a handheld telephone except to initiate or terminate a wireless call or to turn on or off the handheld phone; providing that a violation of the Act may be enforced only as a secondary violation; establishing penalties of $40 for a first offense and $100 for a second offense; prohibiting a driver of a school vehicle or a holder of an instructional permit or provisional driver’s license from using a handheld phone while driving; etc. |
