In Memory of Donald R. Little, Jr.

April 19, 1966 - March 4, 2005 Our loving son, brother & father Donnie, I can't believe it's been five years since you were suddenly taken from us. "If tears could build a highway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again." I have a hole in my heart that will not mend; however, we go on the best we can, keeping the faith the family will be reunited in Heaven. We all love and miss you everyday. The boys are getting so big and through them we have a piece of you. When someone you love becomes a memory that memory becomes a treasure. You are always in our hearts 24/7.

Love forever,
Mom, Dad, Julie, Jacob, Cody & Chyrl.

In Memory of Michael Tumminello A Decade Later

A decade is defined as a period of ten years, a measure of time or a passage of time. We celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, promotions and even graduations. How do we celebrate the passing of our child? Why is the anticipation of your death & birthday so overwhelming? I dont sleep because I know I will relive every minute in detail. All the memories that I have struggles to suppress once again invade my mind and take me to a place I dont want to be. I find some of the memories are vivid and crisp; yet others are so vague and shapeless that it leaves me numb inside. I always dread the anniversary of your death: this one seems so final, a decade. Today, 10 years later, I have changed; I realize the grief isnt so intense or overwhelming. No longer is your death front and center 24/7. I know its okay to laugh, its okay to smile and its okay to say your name without hurting inside. I have learned to be happy for those who have moved on and no longer hurt because its not you. I appreciate the good times and even the bad and everything in between. I still have grief that goes unspoken, especially when I wonder does anyone remember you died today? I used to get upset when no one wanted to talk about you, but I realized it hurts them too. I know that my sense of loss will never be gone; even though it been 10 years, your death has left a hole in my heart and my life will never be filled in the way it was before February 20, 2000. I know my love for you will always be strong; you were my first born son and oh what memories I have. I love to talk about you and I wish others would too; its those memories that help me know youre not forgotten. The feeling of something missing never goes away, but the focus on death and the event fade and the good memories replace it. I will never forget that night, the wait, the fear and the goodbyes, but I go back less & less and remember the happy times. Time does help. I have different priorities. I hurt for the people who share this walk with me. I feel for families who have lost in a way I never understood before. I dont get upset about the little things and I realize thats its not worth the frustrations for things out of my control. I know I changed when memories, for the most part, bring comfort and warmth instead of emptiness and pain. When Im happy, it doesnt mean I no longer miss you; you will always be part of my life. Yes, I miss you; you should be here with me, your Dad, your brother, your nephews and sister-in-law. Its has changed all our lives. But I have learnt not to question God why but instead to thank him for the 24 years you were with me. I have been blessed beyond measure. I have a wonderful son who has given me more joy than any parent can imagie, a beautiful daughter-in-law, two grandsons and a new baby on the way. I have been gifted with a great family, good friends and a wonderful church to help me through the rough time. But most of all I have been given the gift of time - time to heal, time to replace those painful memories with wonderful memories of you, my son. For my son that isnt here I cant believe a decade is approaching this year. Its different this time, I feel the pain is not the same I can laugh and not hurt when I hear your name. I cant stop being a mother because you are no longer here The love we had together will continue each and every year. A mother-son bond is shared forever. Because I know someday we will be together.

I love & miss you my son
