Clean-Up
The Eastfield Stanbrook Civic
Association in conjunction with the Dundalk Renaissance Corporation
will hold a Cleanup on Saturday, Aug. 30 from 9 a.m. - noon. Trash
bags, gloves and T-shirts will be provided. We will meet on the corner
of Denbury Drive and Searles Road. This is a great opportunity for

Meeting
The
Eastfield Stanbrook Civic Association will have its meeting on Tuesday,
Sept. 2 at Grange Elementary School, 2000 Church Rd., in the cafeteria.
Art O'Connell, from MDE Maryland Department of the Environment, and
Mark Mank, toxicologist for the state who handles hazardous waste, will
speak on the intregrity of the capped chromium site in Stansbury Park.

Hawthorne Civic Association Meeting
The
monthly meeting of the Hawthorne Civic Association will be on
Tuesday, Sept. 2 in the Hawthorne Elementary School Cafeteria at 7
p.m. The meeting will focus on the recently completed
community projects and related discussions about future community
projects, public safety issues and resident’s concerns.

Ballestone-Stansbury House Summer Sundays
Ballestone-Stansbury
House, which features American decorative arts and
furnishings circa 1780-1880 in several period room settings, will be
open for tours Sundays in August from 2 - 5 p.m. Guides in
period
clothing will give tours of the house and the gift shop will be
open.
There is a donation of $3 for adults and 50¢ for children 11 and
under. We also have an exhibit
entitled "The Power of Image: George
Washington in American Culture”. This is a wonderful
display of many
items relating to our first president, George Washington.

Middle River Concert Band
The Middle River Concert Band is
seeking new members that enjoy performing on their instruments and are
ready to accept a challenge. The Middle River Concert Band, serving the
community since 1957, is a group of 50 dedicated musicians, of all
ages, that either rehearse or perform some 20 programs throughout the
Baltimore area. Members come from five different counties and Baltimore
City.
You must be able to perform on a high school level and be able to
devote one evening a week for rehearsals or programs. Rehearsals are
held at Tall Cedars Hall on the corner of Old Harford and Putty Hill
roads. Rehearsals are on Mondays from 7:30 - 9 p.m.

Maryland Aviation Museum Event -

Speaker Program
The Glenn L. Martin Maryland
Aviation Museum has announced the September speaker for
its monthly Aviation Speaker Program held in the Lockheed
Martin Auditorium at 2323 Eastern Blvd. in Middle River, adjacent to
the Martin State Airport.
On Monday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m., members from Maryland area Civil
Air Patrol squadrons will present interactive, hands-on demonstrations
of CAP’s missions and capabilities.
Admission is free and a photo ID is required of all attendees.
Children must be escorted by an adult with a photo ID. For additional

Boy Scouts of America
The Chesapeake District and the
Baltimore Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America will be holding
their annual Fall Recruitment drive from August through October. Local
Cub Scout Packs will be holding informational assemblies at elementary
schools in Dundalk and Essex for boys in the first through fifth
grades, followed by registration nights. Information and applications
for young men of Boy Scout age, 11 through 17, will also be available
at these registration nights.

Watersedge Women's Exercise Program
A
women's
exercise program
is ongoing at Watersedge Baptist Church at 3483 Liberty Parkway in
Dundalk. There are day and evening classes. There are step classes,
aerobic dance, stretch and tone, body toning, yoga and cardio classes.
There is also an exercise room with equipment. No joining fees or
contracts.
