Known for their legendary cheesesteak subs and generous portions, Captain Harveys Submarines has been a staple in the Dundalk community for more than 50 years. They now operate solely out of their Danville Square location on Merritt Boulevard. Captain Harveys original owners, Miriam and Cecil Kessler, opened the business at the corner of Eastern Avenue and Lehigh Street, then moved to the Logan Village location in the 1950s. Current owner Steve Sharon, grandson of the Kesslers, says theyve recently sold that location and have moved exclusively to their Merritt Boulevard location. We will make everything for our customers just as we have for more than half a century, but now at our new location, Sharon explains. In addition to those incredible cheesesteaks, Captain Harveys features a varied menu that includes items such as wraps, salads, platters, all types of subs and very special desserts. Known for the quality and quantity of their food, many of Captain Harveys products are special ordered from all over the U.S. Sharon says its all about tradition, service and taste. Giving back to the community is important to Sharon, who serves on the board of directors for both the Dundalk Renaissance Corporation and the Baltimore Art and Music Project. Hes also the Vice President of the Dunlogan Community Council and is an active member of the North Point Police Community Relations Council. Captain Harveys is also host and sponsor of Dundalks Flag Day celebration. As well as carry out service, Captain Harvey's now delivers to home and work. They offer free delivery, with a minimum order amount, depending on the location. For delivery to Essex and Rosedale, a $35 minimum order is required, while minimums are $40 for delivery to Middle River and $50 for White Marsh. Delivery services are offered seven days a week. Captain Harveys Submarines is open Monday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. - 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Credit cards are accepted.
