Where can you go to kick back and relax, sip an icy cold beverage, partake of a great meal and have a really good time? Head on over to Boomers Bar & Smokehouse, located at 121 Earls Rd. in Middle River, where youre sure to enjoy yourself. Owners Donnie Marino and Jeff Swope are committed to providing their customers quality food and beverages, plus a variety of excellent entertainment, at reasonable prices. While the establishment features a grand bar and a few dining tables on the inside, now is the time to take advantage of the island oasis located outside.

Complete with palms trees, sand, tables with umbrellas and a tiki bar, youll instantly feel as if youre on vacation somewhere in the tropics. Be sure to order up a frozen concoction to get the full effect. Getting a little hungry? Boomers offers up an extensive appetizer menu (available until 1 a.m., which is good to know), as well as burgers, sandwiches and ribs. Theyve also got some of the best pit beef sandwiches in town, thanks to the expertise of Swope of Big Als Pit Beef fame. On a recent lunch visit with co-workers, I tried the pit turkey sandwich, which comes served on a toasted Kaiser roll with potato chips on the side. Piled high with turkey, customers can add their choice of sauce to the pit sandwiches. I went with mustard and a smoke BBQ sauce - delicious! The food is served up piping hot, and my co-workers noted the French fries were really good, fried to crispy perfection.

We also sampled the appetizer sampler, featuring chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers and fried green beans. I love fried green beans and these were exceptional. The dipping sauce is outstanding as well. My co-workers were partial to the chicken tenders and cheese sticks, though the poppers were tasty, too, with just the right amount of kick. Really, everything we tried at Boomers was great. In addition to palate-pleasing provisions, customers can also find some marvelous entertainment and activities every night at Boomers.

With live music and DJs on the weekends, plus acoustic guitar on Tuesdays, Team Trivia on Wednesdays and Ladies Night drink specials on Thursdays, theres always something going on youll want to check out. Plus, theres pool tables and video games, as well as multiple large screen HDTVs which will make this a prime location for watching the Ravens games this fall. Happy Hours take place from 3 - 7 p.m. and on Sunday afternoons starting at 4 p.m., Boomers hosts a big deck party outside in their tropical oasis I mentioned earlier. Check out the food and drink specials - like $3 pit beef sandwiches - during these events.

For fun, food and entertainment, visit Boomers Bar & Smokehouse at 121 Earls Rd. in Middle River. Open 11 a.m. - 2 a.m., Boomers also offers a catering room that holds up to 100 people. For more information, call 410-335-7770.
