John P. Shafik was deployed with the U.S. Army in support of OEF from
March 2006- March 2007 and was attached to CJTF-76 than CJTF-82 when
82nd
Airborne arrived in late December and transferred to their unit. He was
supporting also the CJSOTF (Combined Joint Special Operations Task
Force) in Bagram, Kabul, Kandahar and several FOBs (forward operating
bases such as Ghazni, Talat, etc). He was commissioned from Loyola ROTC
in 2005 at a 2LT, and was promoted to 1LT in March of 07. His position
was Cj6 Staff, XO and platoon leader.
